Winter SCOWs

A small fleet of Lymington River SCOWs from the Royal Lymington YC were out on a cold winter Saturday.


Making a colourful sight on what was a dark and dull day .

    Happy new year Max. I love these little scows - In her retirement I think Susan Hiscock of the yachts 'Wanderer' fame sailed one of these well into her 70s from Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight.

    Alden - happy New Year - and yes Susan Hiscock did indeed sail a SCOW in her later life. There's an active fleet in Yarmouth SC on the Isle of Wight which got my interest going on these dinghies and presumably the club where she sailed.

    There are also fleets actively sailing in Lymington, Bembridge, Keyhaven, Christchurch and Chichester
