Traditional clinker built (lapstrake if your reading this to the west of Cornwall), she looks to be a stout and seaworthy inshore fishing craft or similar.
Sadly there never seems to be anyone around to ask, given it was lunch time perhaps the crew had adjourned to Dell Quay Sailing Club or the nearby Crown and Anchor.

Looks like something out of "Tim and the Brave Sea Captain" ( A childrens book I read about 100 years ago). This hefty type of launch was always making its way amongst the old steamers in these kids books.
ReplyDeleteThere was a time after WW2 when converted naval lifeboats got a lot of people sailing, but I guess 'Ada' is of another genre altogether.
