Right up to the early years of the last century pink was the male colour, chosen because it is bold and vivid. That is why the Leander club tie and cap are pink (not to mention the Garrick). Not sure why it changed sex.
We live close to Bursledon Bridge on the Hamble River. This is about boats, wildlife and people in the upper reaches of the Hamble, but mostly about old boats and things nautical.
