I'm not a fan of motor boats generally, but you can't help but admire some of these big and flashy cruisers. You can get a sense of scale by looking at the skipper and the crew. At seventy two feet, getting alongside the dock in what is a crowded marina isn't for the faint hearted.
This season's colour scheme seems to be black and chrome, with just a hint of art deco.
We live close to Bursledon Bridge on the Hamble River. This is about boats, wildlife and people in the upper reaches of the Hamble, but mostly about old boats and things nautical.
Wanna' bet those guys have a bow thruster?
ReplyDeleteand stern thruster's too, just as well when it's blowing hard, I reckon there's more windage than I have sail area!!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up I spent a lot of time on power boats. I like them, but I prefer a more traditional design.
