I'm curious to know what kind of boat this is, it looks like a canoe but I can't imagine why someone would leave a canoe out on a mooring. Maybe someone with local knowledge like fellow blogger Steve might know more?
There were quite a few boats in need of a bail out on Sunday
For some reason Missy reminds me of the 1960's Amphicar remember them? They had about the same amount of free board.
That canoe or whatever it is has been upside down for months. The weather has been so dire nobody goes out even to check their boats I think.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris - seems a strange boat to leave out on a mooring
ReplyDeleteI thought exactly the same when I saw it the other day...looks like one of those Canadian canoes al la "Last of the Mohicans"... I wonder if Sid the harbour master found it somewhere and just put it there as somewhere to keep it 'til the owner turns up??
ReplyDeleteToday the boat was the right side up, albeit awash to the gunwales, and it is indeed a Canadian canoe. I would have taken a picture but I was coxing and the F5 ENE wind meant we were going into Emsworth sideways...
